Overgrowth 2 Opening

Overgrowth 2 was a big success! Thanks to all the artists involved and everyone who came down to Last Chance for the opening.

All the work was well received, but by far the biggest hit of the night was Daek's wine fountain.

The next show at the studio will be called Up Yours, and opens on July 31! More info to come.

Last Chance Store

Things are moving along at a rapid pace at Last Chance Studio. Overgrowth 2 is coming up next Saturday, the phenomenal Kid Zoom has joined us for a couple of months while he's back from Sydney, and we're now open as a small shop - Friday and Saturday 11-6, and Sunday 12-5. 456 William Street. Come say hello!

For the Cut & Paste launch a few weeks ago we built an fun installation which was basically just a bunch of characters painted on a wall of cardboard boxes. There was a little bit of an 80s basketball theme. Here's a couple of my boxes.

King Brown Mag - Issue 5

The new issue of King Brown Magazine is out now, featuring interviews with Michael Sieben, Monica Canilao, Andy Howell, Meggs, Jae Copp, Eveline Tarunadjaja and more. It also comes with a series of art cards, designed by folks like Beastman, Ant Keogh and myself. These are allotted randomly in a playing-card sort of deal - i got Ant and Beastman's when i picked up a copy. If anyone gets mine, let me know!

Buff Love

I did this for the dRaw exhibition. It grossed a fair few people out. I've decided that's a reaction to my work which i am 100% happy with.

Wolf Pack

Section from Wolf Pack Rides Again, which i did for the Pigeonhole show. I feel a bit lame just posting part of the piece, but the rest of it really isn't that great. Everything else in the show is fantastic though. It's up until next Wednesday if you wanna take a look, details in the post below.

Frankie Interview

The ladies at Frankie Magazine interviewed me for their most recent issue. It's a pretty cool feature on Australian illustrators, Justin Williams is in there too. I don't usually look that surly, really.

I will post some actual drawings very soon.

Riding With Wolves

Next wednesday, April 22nd: Awesome Perth store Pigeonhole launches their first mini-art show, celebrating the simultaneous arrival of some pretty sweet old school bicycles from Sweden and Melbourne and some insane wolf statues from Italy and Montreal (Hence the excellent theme.)

There will be some illustrations from myself, Pete Long, Kate-Anna Williams and Jess Horrocks (whose work is on the flyer) as well as some plush sculptures by the stupidly talented Jessie Mitchell. 6pm in Shafto Lane, just off Murray Street!

P.S. Perth people, i am now doing a bit of writing for the awesome Extra Cheeese site, so if you have info on an illustration-related event coming up over here, let me know and i'll try and post something about it.

Wooden Toy

New piece for the launch of Wooden Toy Quarterly #6 - The Hand Made Edition. There's a feature on my stuff in the mag, and i illustrated the 'next issue' ad on the final page as part of a collab with the amazing Timba Smits! The show opens on April 9 at Gorker Gallery in Melbourne, and the issue (which looks pretty incredible) can be purchased here.

P.S.: Pikaland!
