Blackwater Showdown

Freeridin' Poseidon

Blackwater Bodysurfing

And these are my two favourite pieces of Pete's:

Scared White Boy In A Black Neighbourhood (Pete Long)
So yeah... On friday afternoon some friends of ours went down to Fremantle to check out the work, only to find that it was no longer up in the gallery space. This was pretty confusing boxing-day news to us, and after a number of phone calls/texts/emails over the next day or so we finally got someone to explain to us that certain important management-types had gone in over Christmas and seen the work, (10 days after it was installed), had taken offense to the content and ordered it to be taken down.
We know this isn't entirely a bad thing - there's nothing cooler than banned art - but the way this was handled by Creatures management was totally unprofessional, and while i will still drink their beer, they don't deserve to be taken seriously as an arts venue.
Because the show was cut so short and a lot of people didn't get to see it, we are considering displaying an expanded version of the exhibition just for a night or two at some Perth venue towards the end of the summer. I'll keep you posted, internet.

Sean this exhibition looks amazing! some of your best work yet, so sad they took it down.
Oh Perf.
wow.
stuff looks really cool and devo'd did get to check it before it was deemed harmful to society.
every one of these are fantastic.
Thanks heaps guys. Hopefully we will have the second edition up sometime in February.
Bah! Spewing I didn't get to see this before it was kiboshed! What swine. Look forward to the Feb exhibition. Excellent, excellent work Sean.
Yo Sean,
Make sure you pick up Thursday's edition of X-Press and turn to the reactions page for a lot of Little Creatures bashing :)
haha awesome, will do:)
Scrap that - not only is the exhibition too controversial, so's the reaction letter apparently
Man, Whaler Boys is fucking awesome.
That really sucks. I found your work through Etsy and lurve it to pieces - it's too bad that the general public doesn't have proper appreciation of delicately drawn body hair.
But I'm sure there will be plenty of other exhibitions in your future!
Dear Mr Morris
The images on you web page are delightful. But I do not know how you could let your work be displayed at such a vulgar venue that has the picture of a naked child on its beer label.
